“My family visited the sculpture garden around noon on the Saturday, 12/30/17. We had not been here since the other sculptures had been erected we have been there twice when the cross was the only one. Each time was special. Each time was very special. But, so was this time. At some point this fall, I discovered your testimonies on your website. I have heard them all, and some more than once. They have greatly encouraged me in my walk with the LORD. They reminded me that the faith God requires is simple, if only we would obey! Thank you for making those available. I was very moved by the Scriptures along the path, so much so that by the time I reached the cross, I was filled with emotion that of thanksgiving to God and of amazement at the Truth and beauty of God’s Word. It is so powerful. I took a photo of most of them, and now I realize how handy they will be when I’m out and about and want to share the LORD with someone. We found the Prayer Rocks very touching. What a beautiful idea. We left several prayers. As I looked at the sea of rocks, I felt like it represented all of humanity crying out to God for help, which of course is the case. But He hears us individually and knows our whole story. The whole experience was an affirmation of what I feel God has called me to do, because it contains the same elements; God’ Word, God’s presence, created beauty and prayer and praise. In May 2018, I sensed God giving me a vision of creating a place in my community where folks who are losing hope could come and be in the midst of beautiful worship and prayer, and where they could participate at any level –singing, playing an instrument, waiving a banner, dancing, performing mime or drama, making a tapestry, or any number of things. It will be called “HEARTS for Hope”. At the time I was a staff music therapist in an inpatient psychiatric unit, and I was sad that I could not lead folks in worship. Only if someone requested a hymn or worship song could I lead it. That’s when I felt the LORD gave me this idea…Thank you for obeying the voice of the LORD in creating the garden and for the beauty of your art.”
