“I remember the first time you took Martha and I to the property. It was after the retreat, the one in which more than 200 of our ladies invaded your home. You were so gracious to share your story, your home, your heart, your art, and your prayers. It is still one of the most memorable days of my life. As we stood on top of that hill, and you shared your vision, it was a little hard to imagine how it would transform from dirt and rocks into such a beautiful dream. Each time I visit I can feel the difference, the Spirit is strong and the love is deep. On my first visit after the Cross was erected, I stopped by my friend’s, Billy Long, restaurant “Cafe at the Ridge.” I asked him if he’d been there yet, and he had not. I told him that he needed to go visit because it needed a little Billy Long love. Billy and I have been friends for more than 25 years. He started off as my landscaper, but we quickly became good friends and now he’s like a brother. I knew that he would be able to take the Gardens to another level. I’m so glad that he stepped in to help. He is an amazing man of God, and one of the most generous people I’ve ever known. I know he’s not the only one who has helped make the Gardens what they are, but I’m sure he’s also more responsible than he admits.”
